The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT),in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Trails Program, is sponsoring an update of the New Jersey Trails Plan of 1996.

The Draft Plan will be posted on the Web for Public Comment in 2007. The Final Plan is scheduled for completion in 2007.

Thank you to all who participated in the surveys, Open Houses, Meetings and Workshops and contributed to preparing the Trails Plan Update. The overwhelming response from New Jersey's trails community sends a positive message - New Jersey's trails are relevant, diverse, and valued by a wide constituency.
